Gender

Katie

Katie’s project is an exploration of how specific outfits and lighting can make someone feel more masculine or feminine. Without changing makeup, location or body shape, Katie’s exploration in this ways allows for a view into the world of gender expression through fashion.

Piranesi

Piranesi’s (Nesi) Project is an illustration of their process as a Non-Binary person before and after their Top Surgery. They wanted to show the stereotypical expectations of someone who is AFAB (Assigned Female At Birth) with how they dress, act, and are perceived by others in contradiction to their own view of their perception of themselves. Nesi’s uses clothing to help express themselves and show off their personality often. This project helps to show how they hope to continue to grow, build and create their own fashion.

About this Project

This ongoing project is all about exploring Gender identity and Expression through fashion. Using different lighting and posing techniques along with various articles of clothing I want to help tell these stories of people who want to challenge social norms and show off who they are inside and out.
